Biography

Godswill graduated with Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) in 2006. He was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2007 having passed the Qualifying Examinations of the Nigerian Law School. Upon being called to the Nigerian Bar, Godswill worked with the Firm of Messrs Rickey Tarfa, SAN & Co., Lagos, (2008 – 2011), as a Counsel; Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Uyo, AKS, (2011 – 2015), as a Senior Legal Aid Officer; and Dr. Joseph Nwobike, SAN & Co., (2015 – 2020), where he rose to the position of Assistant Head of Chambers, Abuja Office.

During the course of his practice, he is widely involved in Insolvency and Winding-up; Real Estate/Property; Tort claims and Recovery of premises. Other areas include Fundamental Human Rights matters; and Criminal Litigation; Dispute Resolution; Writing/Provision of Legal Opinion on issues of law to Corporate bodies. He formed part of the team that represented Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) at the Federal High Court, Abuja in actions for recovery of debts; defended AMCON in actions for breach of contract at the Federal High Court, Abuja; defended AMCON at the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Abuja in actions for termination of employment contract; part of the team that represented First Bank of Nigeria Limited both at the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court in several actions.
